The final drive ratio of engine RPM to rear wheel RPM on any HD bike can be calculated as follows
- Final Drive Ratio (FDR) = (# clutch / # engine teeth) X (# rear wheel teeth / # trans teeth)
- For M8 Baggers: FDR = (46 / 34) X (68 / 32) = 2.87
- For M8 Softail: FDR = (46 / 34) X ( 66 / 32) = 2.79
